CRISIS LINE (425-4355) is a 24-hour telephone intervention and referral service for residents living within the Evansville toll-free calling area.  Crisis Line is also the after-hours number for the ARK Crisis Nursery and the Vanderburgh County School Corporation’sParent Hot Line’.  

Trained volunteers’ respond to crisis calls with back-up support provided by a staff program coordinator.  Crisis Line is funded by the United Way of Southwestern Indiana and has been in continual operation since 1973.

PROCESS & OUTCOME MEASURES:

  • Maintain sufficient trained VOLUNTEERS for 24-hr coverage.
  • Conduct one volunteer TRAINING meeting per year.
  • Provide one volunteer RECOGNITION event per year.
  • Measure service effect on SUICIDE CALLS, and
  • Provide ANECDOTAL EVIDENCE showing service impact
